Day 17 Recap

My day started out with me going to Starbucks with my lovely roommate Athena. We tend to get a later start on our day because we don’t have classes until the afternoon. On this particular day Ian joined us on our morning endeavor to get food before heading to class. I do not remember what the other two got from starbucks but I had gotten an iced chai latte, a matcha scone, and banana, caramel mochi balls. I ate the scone there and saved the mochi balls for when we got to campus.

After that we set out for the train. Nothing special happened. Ian helped Athena study, while I just scrolled through instagram and listened to music. Overall, the train ride was peaceful. Once we got past Tennoji the car was practically empty. Because the train was empty it made it easy to spot our professor. We waved hi after getting off the train but soon lost her as we walked to class very slowly.

On our way to class we stopped by 7-11. I was so happy because I made “friends” with one of the chashieres there. I say that because the second time we went there she called me cute and ever since she would smile and wave at me every time she saw me. I will say that little interaction makes my day every time I see her. This time I got a frozen drink so that it would stay cold longer.

From there we went to campus and headed into the cafeteria. There I ate my mochi balls and talked with some of my other peers. We then all headed over to the building where a lecture on aerospace was being held. I did not understand what was being talked about but was somewhat able to follow. After that I had class.

In class we read about this one guy's life in Japan from over 20 years ago. I found it to be a bit confusing but overall it was a pretty decent article. We then were put to the task of taking a picture based on a certain topic. My group took a picture of a construction crane because our topic was based on looking up.

After that I went to a cafe for lunch with Athena. I got lasagna and fruit tea. It was so good!

We then went to the hotel to take a 30 minute nap before having to go out with friends. We went to our usual bar but a few others and I decided to not drink and headed back to the hotel early. When we got back we weren’t exactly ready to call it a night so we gathered in a room and watched an anime about a guy reincarnated as a vending machine in some fantasy world and Howl’s moving castle. Once we were done with that we got into contact with the others who stayed out later to make sure they were okay before heading to bed.

Blog 24: The tale of castles and princesses

My blog day was the 27th of July. I woke up early that morning and started getting ready at around 7:30. It was the day we were scheduled to go to the famous Himeji castle. So, I met up with the rest of the students at the front lobby on the first floor. There were only a few students there at the time, around 5 or 6, but the rest of them came into the lobby a few moments later. We then went to the train station in Shinsaibashi. Several people got lost on the way, from the trains to the walk over. Then when we made it to the Himiji train station the professors decided that it was time to break for lunch and a few students and I went to an Italian place. At this restaurant I ate a pizza and a bowl of pasta. I enjoyed the pizza however the pasta I ordered ended up being far too spicy for my liking. After that I got a Mint Chocolate ice cream cone from the local Baskin Robbins. After that a small group of students and I headed out to the castle. After a while of walking in the bakin...
